Sharon Holly has had a love of photography ever since she picked up her first camera, the Kodak Instamatic. Beautiful landscapes and architecture were her favorites until she studied at UCLA and was inspired by the works of Henri Cartier-Bresson and his “decisive moment”. For the past 6 years, Sharon has been focusing her photography work on children and families. She shares Cartier-Bresson’s gift of snapping the shutter at a precise moment in time, capturing an expression or gesture that shows her subjects’ *True Essence.* Sharon believes that natural light, outdoor settings are the key ingredients in capturing real-life, candid moments on film. Having the freedom to run around and play is what makes the session fun and her photos beautiful. She doesn’t like to use a lot of props and will ask you to wear your favorite clothing and bring some of your children’s favorite toys. At times she may ask you and your children for ideas too. Keeping everyone involved is important. Sharon has been very successful in making your photos unique to your family & capturing moments in time to be treasured always. In addition to her family portraiture, Sharon is a freelance photographer for the Family Magazine Group, which produces nine publications including Los Angles Family Magazine, Las Vegas Family & First Class Family Travel. She loves to travel and still enjoys capturing beautiful scenery, which sometimes include interesting people as well. Sharon’s photography has also been used for corporate brochures, annual reports & advertising. Some of her corporate clients include: Pali Entertainment, Enterprise Foundation, MAC Systems, The Creative Marketing Group, Team Building, Hillside Park & Mortuary, Our House, Galerie Dionisi and the West LA Chamber of Commerce. She is also available for corporate parties, events and gallery openings. Her medium of choice is traditional 35mm film. When not shooting, you will find Sharon in the darkroom printing her favorite black & white images. Sharon’s fine art work has been exhibited most recently at The Perfect Exposure Gallery, The Pink Gallery, Los Angeles Center Studios and Starbucks in Santa Monica.
